We can't wait to try out the new chair lifts and pistes currently being updated in the Portes du Soleil for 2020; Avoriaz has updated its piste map (above) to show a third link to the Swiss resorts of Champery and Les Crosets with the construction of two new lifts: The first will replace the slow 3 seater at Léchère in Lindarets with a more efficient 6 seater chairlift which will extend to meet the second new six seater chairlift Les Cases. This will complement the existing 4 seater Mossettes chairlift on a new less windy route. There will be a new red Vautna piste at the start of the new cases chairlift near to the existing blue Abricotine. Let’s hope its easier on the legs! § Chatel is also upgrading its liaison between Super-Chatel-Barbossine and the Swiss resort of Torgon and La Chapelle Abondance by upgrading the antiquated 3 seater Morclan chairlift to a 6 seater chair. Its associated piste is also being improved. Hopefully this will open this little used area and one of our favourites…. § Les Gets has increased its snow-making capacity to 50% coverage of the resort with 85 ha of tracks equipped with brand new blue snow cannons making it more snow-sure in popular areas. On the piste front there will be a new blue piste to the bottom of Les Perrières Express making this area more accessible for beginners. § |
