Our recommended Ski and Snowboard Schools
Do you remember your first ski day? Learning to ski is exciting, it opens a whole new experience in the mountains to you but … it can also be daunting. It can be frustrating, and you may even fall a few times. However, with the right instruction, you'll progress much quicker than you would think – you'll be navigating around the mountain and enjoying yourself in no time.
But how to get started and how to choose the right ski school for you. Do you want to join a group of people of the same ability or do you want a private instructor for a one-one lesson? Adults and children have different needs. Do you want to book lessons for a week or perhaps just a few days over the weekend?
There are many ski schools in Morzine. We have compiled a simple list of our recommended schools to help you choose.
We recommend EASY2RIDE in Morzine. Easy2Ride offer small group sizes and tailor-made private lessons for children and adults. They provide ski and snowboard lessons in Morzine and Avoriaz as well as off piste and freestyle instruction.
Other schools are listed below to give you an overview. These ski schools offer numerous different packages, group sizes, and operate in Morzine-Les Gets and Avoriaz. They all provide excellent ski lessons in English so check out each company and pick which one works best for your requirements.

We recommend MINT SNOWBOARDING for group and private snowboarding tuition in Morzine and Les Gets as well as technical performance courses. Your snowboarding will develop from a good technical base so you learn quickly and build your confidence.
We also recommend a few other snowboard schools in Morzine. These schools offer numerous different packages, group sizes, and operate in Morzine-Les Gets and Avoriaz.
Where lessons are held in morzine
The Morzine-Les Gets ski area is easy to access and has many long, wide, open pistes and we recommend lessons in this area for children, beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders.
Ski lessons in Morzine generally start at the top of the Pleney bubble where there is a large meeting area. Each ski school has its own meeting point so look for the sign that has the logo of your ski school on it.
Where lessons are held in Avoriaz
For intermediate and advanced skiers & snowboarders, the Avoriaz ski area offers a large variety of pistes, literally unlimited off-piste and numerous connections to the rest of the Portes Du Soleil ski area.
All ski lessons in Avoriaz start at the top of the Prodains Telecabine, but meeting points can vary so it is best to check with your ski school when booking.
The ski slopes in Avoriaz are higher than those in Morzine-Les Gets and therefore the snow conditions are generally better during the late season. If you're visiting Morzine in the spring, you might want to consider booking your ski lessons in Avoriaz for this reason.
Ski lessons for beginners
If you've never been skiing before (or only been to an indoor slope) then learning to ski up in the mountains can be a daunting prospect.
Remember, everyone must start somewhere and those people you see gracefully flowing down the mountain were once wobbling down the nursery slopes too.
The key to enjoying learning to ski is having a great teacher who will make the process fun and rewarding.
All Morzine ski schools offer beginner packages.
Ski lessons for intermediate, advanced, and off piste skiers
Once you can ski to a decent level it's easy to rest on your laurels and cruise round the mountain without stretching yourself.
However whilst a relaxed ski can be a great feeling, the real fun is in constantly trying to improve your skiing technique and there are some great ski coaches out who can take you to the next level with a private one on one lesson or even performance training with a group of skiers of similar abilities.
Many people are confident piste skiers but have never skied off-piste. Skiing off-piste is amazing but requires some different skills – this is where a couple of good lessons works wonders and will unlock the whole mountain to you.
Private lessons can be brilliant for beginner skiers who are lacking confidence as well as intermediate or advanced skiers who want to sharpen up their technique or learn to ski on a specific type of terrain – for example, moguls or off-piste.
Why not hire a guide for half or full day! Local guides know the area like the back of their hands and can introduce you to a new part of the Portes du Soleil as well as brush up some technique at the same time.
ESF offer a one-day guided experience for up to 4 people and Easy2Ride offer 3 different off piste tours.
